We’re on for today (Saturday, December 13th). I got the following note from Mark Lewis overnight:
I have a floor scraping job lined up for another church on the island…and if there is any way at this late time to see if anyone has a heat gun to bring, it would save time. Also have a de-drywalling job in Hitchcock, that ideally your team may consider adopting for reinstallation in future weeks. I’ll let chad know about that one too.
If you are planning to come today, please be at the church between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. for departure to Galveston. You will be leaving the island to return between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Scraping was completed by the whole Trinity team working together, but it was pretty labor-intensive. EFCA was expecting some kind of equipment that breaks up the tile, but it was not there. Thanks to Andersons, Duttons, Rasks, Olsons, and Joshua B for their hard work.
We then called on the Hitchcock job thinking we might be able to do a couple hours of work, but the contact was no longer at the location (due to poor communication on our part) and said there was a fire in the area that would probably prevent us from gaining access anyway. She suggested we reschedule, which we relayed to the EFCA staff.
We understand this job is mostly ceiling sheetrock removal. I believe the owner has been abandoned after paying some up-front money for repair work, so I sincerely hope that one of our groups will be able to assist her.
