Who: Friend of Walters and their Church
When: Sep 24
Where: Tiki Island
What: Church clean up

Contacts for needs in Tiki Island and Bayou Vista, both hit hard by the storm. There is a friend of mine that is part of a small church there that was hit hard as well, and the clean up of the church itself has been put off while the homes of the members were attended to. She said that they are just now assessing damage to the church.

Who: Abigail & Tim Rask and 10-20 members of their Church
When: Oct 4
Where: Help around the Houston area
What: Workcrew

My husband and I live up in Dallas, and our church here would like to send a small team down to Houston to help out. I'm not sure how many people will be able to come, but probably in the 10-20 range, mostly college age kids with few older adults as well. We don't really have skilled labor, so we would be better suited to destruction type work than construction.

Who: Mary Trela
When: Sep 23
Where: Kemah
What: Help with Heavy Lifting

I over heard them speaking about needing help, they lived in Kemah and everything is lost. The man, Raymond had surgery on his back a while ago and they nicked his nerve, so he is in chronic pain from the waist down. He is also having surgery tomorrow on his wrist. His wife, Brenda had surgery on her foot not long ago. They are staying with her sister for the time being. They have been trying to get someone to come and help them with some heavy lifting. Of course, this was a God moment. I shared a little with them about your Ministry and took there names and numbers. If you could call and talk to them and see what can be done ...

10,6 & 3 yrs. (who will be coming with us to AWANAS starting next week! PTL!)

Their home was also flooded about 4' and have much mud. They have removed the carpet & wallboard, but have many other items to clean. Both of the parents need to return to work tomorrow, but can work with us on availability to enter to do the work.

Our Trinity team worked her father's house next to ours and the Lord is really touching their hearts for Him and I would like to see this work go forward in a tangible way as a witness

What: Flood Damage Clean up pull out carpet and furniture

Mary (Tom Morrow's Grandmother)& Merrill Hughes, 403 Shore Acres Blvd., Shore Acres

Mom's house was flooded (in Shore Acres). They had over a foot of water in the house, and besides that, the sewer backed up, so you can imagine the terrible stench... need help with clearing it out. Craig had to go back to work and is on 7-12's, so it's just me so far. This is a pretty big deal for my parents as they are 83 and 84 years old, so they can't really do a whole lot in the physical. And they are really devastated and overwhelmed, but they are hanging in there. I'm not sure how we're going to be able to manage pulling out all that carpet and furniture... ---JoAnne Leppo

my mother-in-law has a big tree that uprooted in her yard and a pecan tree that broke about 20-25 feet off the ground and has the top just hanging - we were able to take care of the other limbs in her yard but will need a tree service for these two big jobs - does anyone know someone who does that kind of work and is honest and fair?
